Buying Cavalli cheap in Italy

The elderly man at the information booth gave us a map and circled the locations of cheap shops in the city.

"And these," he said with a wink, "are the cheaper stores." He pointed to a handful of spots outside the center. He sure knew what Russian women in Milan want!

A grey-haired Italian helped us with our tickets at the turnstiles. "-, my bellini Marias!" he said.

Yulia translated: "He said, 'O-o, my beautiful Marias.' They know Russian women from a mile away. High heels, flashy purses... Italian women dress much, much simpler."

We rushed through the Vittorio Emmanuel II shopping center to La Scala theater. The mall looks just like Moscow's GUM with its semicircular glass roof and heap of boutiques. We hurried to the renowned Fashion District for a depressing three-hour walk. more
